The A4420 runs full Android 15 as a standalone operating system — not a phone mirror, not a locked CarPlay interface, but a complete Android device installed in your dashboard. That distinction matters. With Android 15 you get access to the full Google Play Store: install Waze, Spotify, YouTube, WhatsApp, or any app you'd use on your phone, and run it directly from the unit without your phone being present.
The 1440×720 Incell display at 6 inches is the sharpest screen in the 2GB Android range — noticeably better than the 1024×600 IPS panels most competitors ship at similar prices. 2GB RAM handles multitasking without lag: Waze running in the background while Spotify plays and a Bluetooth call comes in is handled cleanly. 64GB internal storage gives you plenty of room for offline maps, music, and apps.
Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto still work when you want them. Built-in WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 5.2, FM radio, steering wheel controls, reverse camera input, and split-screen multitasking.
Entry vs Smart tier: Entry tier units (R1,999) require your phone for everything — CarPlay/Android Auto only. This unit runs independently. No phone required for navigation, music, or apps.
